can this really be possible u may ask? is one of the best rpgs in ps2 history really coming to the psp? ladies and gentlemen, i am pleased to announce that the answer to that question is a big fat YES!!!
here is the brand spanking new info on the port.
and here are some scans.
i can't emphasize enough how happy i was to hear this. persona 3 and 4 have to be the best games i've ever played on the ps2. (of course shadow of the colossus, the final fantasy and metal gear games hold a special place in my heart as well =D)
the release date for japan is november 1st, 2009. i just hope that atlus doesn't waste any precious time picking up the project.

Woah. If atlus hadnt said so itself, I would've never beleived it.

But still, the atlus faithful have'nt heard anything. So, is there like a video of the press conference or...? :/

I saw the famitsu scans of it the other day, I'm really excited for this game to come out. I would buy it for a third time.

i haven't found any videos of a conference, just the scans. don't worry, i expect will be hearing a whole lot more in the coming weeks considering that the japanese release date is so near.
and it will be completely retarded of atlus not to pick the project up, so i wouldn't worry too much about it.

Hmmmm...the more that I think about it, the more suspect it seems.

Why would they be making another P3 installment? They'd more likely be working on an expansion of P4 or P5 itself!

From what I've seen FES didnt sell that well in the first place...

Aside from all that; It would take a ton of resources from other projects, since they would have to make a complete overhaul to the Social link system. Not to mention a ton of adjustments to the story. After all the female adjustments, it would still have to undergo many other modifications.

One last note, If it really is coming out; It'll be for the new PSP that doesnt use UMD format. So we'll prolly need to get that.

i highly, VERY HIGHLY doubt that it will be a psp go exclusive. sony said the normal psp will still be receiving full support, so i am 100% sure that there will be a umd as well as a download for psp go.
and i don't think about all the useless details, i'm just happy they are actually doing it.
either way, why are u suspicious if it's written in famitsu, a big time japanese game magazine? i think it's unlikely that they'll go pulling our legs. if i'd be suspicious of anything, it would be the localization.
and take a look at this. it states that there will be a simultaneous release on umd and psn. sure it may not be too reliable yet, but that's about all the evidence we have for the moment.

Well, you never know I guess. It wouldnt be the first time Atlus has deceived its fans.

...I just wish I had a PSP to begin with!

i got mine used at eb games for $130. got it modded. very happy with it, playing my friends' backups for free =P however p3p will probably be the only game i'll ever buy for the psp, unless of course p4 gets the same treatment. this game is just too awesome not to own.

Well, I can afford/get one. But like you, this persona game is likely the only game I'd ever buy for it.

Maybe I could trade away a wii for one? XD

lol u sure that will be a fair exchange? XD i don't have a wii, but if i did i think i would like to hang on to it =)
and srsly get a psp and get it hacked. it's soooooo worth it. if u wanna stay on the legal side and not download illegal games, which is what i do, at least most of the time XD, then borrow ur friends' games and rip them to ur psp. u'll have an unlimited supply of games that way =) and all free.
plus u can very heavily customize it with custom firmware, it opens up so many new possibilities.

EDIT: here are some new p3p screen shots and videos. it looks like they replaced the mc with a cursor when exploring the city. kinda lame i think but not a big deal imo. everything else seems pretty solid so far.
