So, Hylia, I'm writing a film.
Didn't think I should put it in the art section, because of stuff. If it belongs there, DL, please move it.
But what it is, is it's a romance. An OPERATOR romance.
With a few action setpieces. But at its heart, it's a romance between two OPERATOR-style people, Marcus Reyner and Alyssa Harrington.
The name of this film is REGICIDE, because it involves the Latin Kings and them dying.
I'd like to talk about it for a while.
It's 33 pages so far, mostly dialogue, with a 3-page action sequence.
I have a lot of references to OPERATOR stuff, particularly Michael Mann things, like Miami Vice (at least 4 or 5 references), Collateral (Marcus and Alyssa are watching this at one point), and Mozambiquing (two in the chest, one in the head, Michael Mann's signature execution technique, used in every one of his films and shows). I reference people like Simo Hayha and Jim Zubiena (Miami Vice's weapons instructor). I like my script so far, but it's way too short for a feature film, and I've already got my three acts.
So, I need to pad. I'm asking you guys for ideas how to pad. Maybe I'll post my character synopses, full of background information that will likely never get into the movie. I should probably give examples from the script, but I won't yet.

Man, I just had an awesome idea for the romance part.
The main character proposes to the love interest, using a gun piece (Specifically the trunion of a CETME) as a ring.

An OPERATOR is a person who is into guns, at it's basest definition. Usually has something to do with military service, you know, that kinda thing.

This is it so far:
REGICIDE Plot Synopsis.
At its heart, despite the name, Regicide is actually a romance. A love story that just happens to be between two civilian OPERATORS (Gun aficionados). The story follows Marcus J Reyner, an ex-muhreen (USMC) marksman. After Marcus finished his tour of duty in Iraq, which ended around 2004 (His tour, not the war), he moved to South Pasadena, at the recommendation of his ex-LT (Lieutenant), Scott Morris, who joined the police service in South Pasadena. He fell in love with a clerk at the local gun store, a girl named Alyssa Harrington. Unfortunately, while Marcus was great at slaying bodies (He was a good soldier), he never gathered up enough nerve to ask Alyssa out before she started dating local cop Richard Freeman, though he went to the store every day just to see her. Unbeknownst to Marcus, Alyssa has developed feelings for him as well, but also being too nervous about her own worth to initiate a relationship, figuring Richard was the only person she deserved, that would ever ask her out, so she jumped on that chance, figuring it was the only chance she’d get. Unfortunately (Or rather, fortunately for Marcus), Alyssa is unable to commit to relationships, suffering from a self-sabotaging low self-esteem (which stems from her parents’ divorce, and how hurt she was, feeling abandoned by her father, who had taught her what she knows about shooting, which is a lot), which leads Richard to break up with her. Marcus thankfully has gathered up some nerve, and asks her out to shoot with him when he finds out about the break-up. By that time, Marcus has pissed off the Latin Kings, at least their new South Pasadena branch. As Marcus and Alyssa start their relationship, the gang starts to make trouble for Marcus, and after an attack on Marcus’ apartment, he moves in with Alyssa. They get to know each other much better over the course of about 2 or so weeks, although, as Marcus says, “He’s known her and loved her for 5 years”. Marcus eventually proposes to Alyssa, using a fairly rare gun part for a ring. Eventually, after the death of Scott’s and his family, and 4 of Marcus’ other friends, Marcus decides that enough is enough, and vigilantes the hell out of the Latin Kings, killing every last King at their headquarters.

Oh, I posted that earlier, though I'm not sure I'm going to stick with that one part. It's a CETME's trunion ring.

oh sorry, my bad. not sure exactly how romantic that would be though. perhaps a normal ring really is the better choice?
