I've played around with a program called the GIMP. It's similar to Photoshop, almost like a simplified version of it. Here's some pics I've made as signature pics...

These are ones I've made from a free MMO game called Secret of the Solstice, from oldest to newest...

I really like the last four. Especially the one you are using as a siggy. I just downloaded GIMP last night. I'll have to try it out and see what I can make with it.

It's really fun to use. I've yet to figure out how to make the glowing/neon effects with it, like with adding it to an object in the pic other than the edge of the pic. If you can figure it out, that would be a great help. ^^

The last four are my recent ones, the last one I'm currently using on the SoS Forum. I'm slowly getting better with creating these and later on, I'll post up some that I made from almost nothing.

Nice work. We have Gimp too but I don't understand how it works. Is it too complicated to me or I'm I just too lazy to learn how it really works?

I know in Photoshop, it has a magic wand that you can choose a certain object to add effects to. I'll have to check to see if GIMP has something like that. I haven't really been at home since the 23rd of last month to play around with it.

Those images are really good! I've never heard of the program you use, but I'm a designer and use a lot of Photoshop. Are your images inspired by things you've drawn, or do they come from a game? I don't understand the text all over them though. Is that to go along with a game you play? I've been interested in anime for years and am just now getting to experiment. You look like you've been at this for a while.
