Why do you like Manga?

more indept character development. hollywood has always been street boy saves the world, gets a girlfriend and lives happily ever after.
now compare that to something like death note.

Yeah the stories are always different and interesting. The japanese seem to have found a way to write brilliant storys, without trying to pack in loads of morals and messages in them. I really like the artwork used in manga as well. I read alot of American comic books as well, but i think i prefer the manga artwork, although its best when its combined, like spider-man loves mary jane or My dead Girlfriend. But back to the main topic, i like manga because it's fun to read.

Because characters in mangas can be "hot" unlike the american comics where the girls can't really look good. And the facial expressions are awesome plus the detailed drawing and sketching.

i like manga because it deals with regular people. even the characters that have powers still act regular. and they have more ordinary problems. the humor is also extremely funny because japanese character's are aloud to make fun of themselves and be made fun of. america comics at present are focused more on the superhero who stands for some high ideal that is made painfully clear over and over again. even my favorite, spiderman, is framed and governed by the idea that with great power comes great responsibility. so a superheroe's regular problems seem alot more melodramatic. and the humor just isn't that funny when its the punchline to a punch.

OOOOOOOOOOOH! where do i begin?!?!?!
first of all, I LOVE manga. In comparisson to american comics: i find the images more dynamic, less stiff-looking, the sound effects seem more suitable, and the characters aren't always superhero-types (not that that's always the case,)
manga encompasses complex and twisting plots, notable character developement, a variety of characters and stories, and uses astounding visuals to convey an effective and moving storyline.
i could go on forever but.. i'm working towards 100 posts, not one very very long one

I like them mostly because i like to look at the pictures, then reproduce them! I also think the plots are not like normal tv shows/books. they're very original stuff! ^^

The way it's so different from British/American cartoons. For instance instead of just showing two characters having at argument, manga will focus on one character in every panal, creating an interesting atmostphere.



and the fact that people have cat ears!
