Horror/Thriller Anime

Konnichiwa everyone!

Now, I was looking for something really scary to watch because its been a while I haven't seen something that has scared me. Miss the days when I couldn't sleep at night and kept looking at the open door in the darkness, expecting someone to be there.

What I'm looking for is a horror/ thriller/ suspense ANIME series(small one; like 20~30 epis) OR movie.

Any suggestions?

I don't know about scary, but if you want Horror with gore, I suggest: 'Higurashi no naku koro ni (Kei/Rei)' and 'Mnemosyne'.

The only ones that I can think of right now are Hellsing (not the ova's), Blood+ and Elfen Lied.

i have never seen a scary anime, only gory, and elfen lied takes the prize on this one.

So far the ones that really got me going were

xxxHolic (some episodes are scary, not all)
Ayakashi (<<<rocking awesome)

After hunting a bit I found out there was something called Hyaku Monogatari. (means Hundred stories of Horror) Now these are traditional Japanese Folklore stories and the real book even has the pictures of the ghosts described in the stories (Ukiyo-e pictures; typical Japanese art form Ukiyo-e - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). So, after searching a bit, turns out someone had the (obvious) idea to make manga outta these stories. This Manga was made into an anime named Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari. However, our site doesn't have this anime (coz I feel its really rare)

Can anyone help me out a bit? I really wanna see this anime.

Hello ,I know the answer is pretty late,but the site does have this anime under the title REQVIEM FROM THE DARKNESS.

eternalchild is correct. We do have 13 episodes of Requiem from the Darkness here. Nem, since you were checking around on Wikipedia, why didn't you do a search for Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari to see if it had any alternate names?
