Popular but terrible

Could reel off a list as long as my arm. Seeing as we've got a thread of good but obscure anime, anyone got an axe to grind about any famous but piss-poor anime?

I'm scared to even say anything.... but it's an opinionated thing so....

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Okay, it's not a terrible show. I mean it's funny, the animation is good, and she's cute. Really cute! But it's so overrated!!! After being told it's so good, I watched it and after she nearly destoyed the world, I got bored. The baseball game and mystery stuff was boring. It was like filler. I kept watching it because I wanted to see her to sing the song. "God Knows" is an awesome song. I don't even like Haruhi. She's a spoiled brat. I don't care if she's god or not. Everyone gives her what she wants or else the world ends? No.

Lucky Star: Um.... it's dumb... really dumb. I love the dance. It's so cute, but the show is lame. However, their parodies rock.

Cowboy Bebop: You know, I've spent years, YEARS, trying to get into this anime. I think since I was 13 or so, and I still don't get it. It bores the living fuck out of me. "Tank" is not a great opening theme. Sorry, no.

Neon Genesis Evagelion: This is like the letdown of my life. XD But seriously, I was dissappointed. I HATE mech anime, they bore me. But, this one I was so in to!!! My school had a marathon of it and I just watched it all day. And in the end, nothing was explained!! The whole anime was about some whiny little boy whose sad because daddy left him???? Are you for real???? The last two episodes you have to be high to understand!!! It really left me down.

Hmm, I actually think that's all

Seriously. It's great, but it feels like it hates you. Which rawks so fuckin' hard.

I personally LOVED the change to utter crushingly depressing psychological shit.

Evangelion is my favorite for a lot of reasons. The last two episodes happen in Shinji's head and is like a relfection on his life and what you take from life once you cease to be, trying to sort things out, ya know? If you watch the movies, the Air episodes, they explain what really goes down, and it one of the heaviest things I have ever seen.
Any ways, as much as I love it, I'm sorry it let you down.

As far as really bad shows go, any anime made from a fighting game seems to be horrible, and any hentai tentacle monster flick is terrible, except for the Overfiend series, that was great. Inferno road was kind of lacking, though.

naruto is a bunch of cheap ninjas
man they must have something like subliminar messages to hypnotize the people and force them to watch it
other terrible serie is the new episodes of pokemon that is always the same

Haha I'll have to get to each of your four mentioned series - I also have things to say about them and I don't totally agree with you!

Haruhi: It was innovative at the time - something popular with the mixed order of episodes and mystery that remains unsolved. The main point wasn't the storyline at all, but rather the character development. I liked it, if you want my opinion!

Lucky Star: It's a little slow. It's light comedy that might be too mild for some people. I watched it negligently, while doing other things - it's not something that struck me as so very exciting.

Cowboy Bebop: I couldn't get inot that one either, and I never actually finished it! I guess I'm biased by more recent things~

Evangelion: I remember it as something which I left untouched for a while and then rewatched later on. It's a classic, so at least you should keep your mind open and say that you watched it. It's also a so-so for me.

Hmm... I used to be an avid Naruto fan, but it's fallen hard. Very fucking hard. I still read very week but it's not even an awesome plot anymore, it's a "WTF" plot. And Bleach just got boring. Really borning
