Bleach : Should Ichigo have refused Rukia's soul reaper powers?

Exactly....but the show could have taken a totally different route if he didn't .. cause chad and uryuu and Inoue already had powers.... so he would have played an interesting role being someone who only could se hollows..

I think that his accepting of the powers is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

Without that, Ichigo and hiz family would have died.

Ichigo decides not to take the powers, and stands up to the Hollow on his own.
Obviously, Ichigo gets OWNED and the Hollow kills his whole family, and Rukia.
The rest of the series centers around the problems a teenage corpse faces in everyday life.

Sure he has his own Shinigami power, But stealing Rukia's made the "Save Rukia" arc.. Where he needed to learn Bankai and VS. Byakuya

Sado and Inoue only had powers because they spent too much time with Ichigo, and his reiatsu effected them.

Ichigo had his own Shinigami powers, But they were suppressed, then they were brought back out by Urahara, when he turnned him into a Hollow.

Ichigo's dad is a Shinigami, its only natural he is too.
