Parents reactions to anime

My dad just kinda pokes fun at me every once in a while for listening to such high pitched japanese music. (Yeah, Miko Miko Nurse is just... a bit high.)

My mom however, was poking fun at me like dad, and then she saw... or somehow got a hold of Bleach. She took us to the anime conventions, commented on the more suggestively dressed cosplayers... Typical. But Bleach drew her in, and she started bugging me for the manga >_>;;
She loves Bleach now, and she's watched a bit of Fullmetal Alchemist. She'll never be a full blown otaku, but she's still very accepting of my habits. I love my parents XD;;

When she read it, my mom didn't even comment about Kare First Love Vol. 2, where the main heroine's friend jokingly insists that the main heroine use "protection" that night (Of course, it was only a 13+ manga, and nothing too bad happens anyway.) XD

My mum used to try and mimic the expressions and sounds the characters would make when turning into sayon form in Dragon Ball Z. You know how they used to go 'GAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH" and stuff like that. So embarressing!

Gods, I wish my mom was open-minded like Shinigamiyoko's XD.

My mom hates me watching/having anything to do with anime. She's always like, "ZOMG, how can you use your time to watch anime? You should be spending all 24 hours studying!! Did you know you could be a doctor with a PhD if you would spend all of your waking hours studying instead of actually taking breaks for your hobby?!!" Yup yup, Asian parent XD;;. She thinks anime is taking over my brain or something.

My dad is more open-minded though. He actually really likes anime - he's really into Naruto right now, but he also watches Bleach. He reads manga, too .

My parents know about it, but I hide things pretty well. Man, if they knew I watched Higurashi they would flip.

It's amusing to say the least. I remember how many blank stares I kept getting from my Mom, and my Dad would never really understand why I enjoy anime.

They think its for kids but my dad likes some of them, my mom on the other hand doesn't really understand what makes anime fun

Dude so suck's, my dad has no idea what anime's i watch, hell he walks in to mah room when im watching and is like "Your watching stupid cartoon's again?" Well they maybe stupid but at least their entertaining. My mom has no idea, and just dosn't care. My dad on the other hand is more on the line's of like "What the hell is this crap your watching?"

My parents know what anime is and the differences between that and western cultureBut still, they think they'rew just cartoons, and I do the same xD Only difference with western cartoons is that anime tends to have a better story to tell.
